The Medical Oncology/Hematology Research Team founded by Prof. M.F. Fey and Prof. A. Tobler currently consists of five groups, namely the groups of A. Ochsenbein, T. Pabst, M.P. Tschan, O. Gautschi and U. Novak. The research programme is traditionally run in close collaboration and as a joint venture with the Department of Hematology at our Hospital.
The research in the group of Adrian Ochsenbein aims at a better understanding of tumor immunosurveillance to design new concepts for immunotherapy.
The molecular pathology of acute leukemias as well as normal myelopoiesis is being investigated using both cell line models as well as clinical material from patients seen at our hospital in the groups of Thomas Pabst and Mario P. Tschan.
The group of Oliver Gautschi focuses on the assessment of lung cancer-specific molecular alterations in order to develop new strategies in the development and treatment of lung cancer.
The focus of the group of Urban Novak is the molecular pathology of mature B-cell lymphomas.
Details on any programme depicted above are available on request or can be found on the individual group websites.
